The <strong>Chicago International Television Awards<\/strong> are a celebration of the best in television and along with the Emmy Awards, have been established as one of the most important international competition for foreign productions.<\/p>\n<p>AGORA, a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.smallplanet.gr\/\">Small Planet<\/a> production (Greece), in co-production with <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www1.wdr.de\/index.html\">WDR<\/a> (Germany) and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.net\/portal\">Al Jazeera Arabic<\/a> (Qatar), had its world premiere in late 2014 <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/cphdox.dk\/en\/\">at the Danish Documentary Festival CPH: DOX<\/a> in Copenhagen. It has been awarded with the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.otto-brenner-preis.de\/dokumentation\/2015\/preistraeger\/spezial-preis.html\">Otto Brenner Special Prize <\/a><strong>for Critical Journalism<\/strong> (Germany, 2015), the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/lagff.org\/archives\/lagff-2015\/2015-lagff-winners\">Best Documentary Film Orpheus Award<\/a> at <strong>Los Angeles Greek Film Festival<\/strong> (USA, 2015) and the <strong>Best Pitched Project Award<\/strong> at <strong>FIPA INDUSTRY<\/strong> (France, 2014).<\/p>\n<p>The film portrays the euro crisis from a Greek point of view over a period of more than four years. The director captures the political and social impact of the crisis in his home country, in intense, partly shocking images and speaks both with policy makers and with those directly affected by the crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Until today, AGORA has been screened in numerous international film festivals and broadcasted by TV networks in more than 20 countries in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Asia and Australia and by satellite networks worldwide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AGORA has been awarded with the \u201cGold Hugo\u201d Award as the best documentary film in the social \/political category of the 52nd Chicago International Film Festival Television Awards.
