Over 40 countries participated in this year\u2019s competition, in 23 categories across drama, comedy, children\u2019s, documentary, factual, digital and more. The program\u2019s industry jury featured more than 350 professionals and leaders from around the world working in the entertainment and media arenas.<\/p>\n<p>Canadian programs received 6 awards, while productions from Great Britain and USA followed with 4. Audiovisual programs from South Korea won two awards and France, Taiwan, Norway, Germany, Australia and Greece received one award each.<\/p>\n<p>This is the fifth award for AGORA, a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smallplanet.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Small Planet<\/a> (Greece) production, in co-production with <a href=\"http:\/\/www1.wdr.de\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WDR<\/a> (Germany) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.net\/portal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Al Jazeera Arabic<\/a> (Qatar). It has also been awarded with the prestigious <strong>Gold Hugo<\/strong> award at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chicagofilmfestival.com\/tv-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">52nd Chicago International Television Awards<\/a> (USA, 2016), the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.otto-brenner-preis.de\/dokumentation\/2015\/preistraeger\/spezial-preis.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Otto Brenner Special Prize for Critical Journalism<\/a> (Germany, 2015), the <a href=\"http:\/\/lagff.org\/archives\/lagff-2015\/2015-lagff-winners\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Best Documentary Film Orpheus Award<\/a> at <strong>Los Angeles Greek Film Festival<\/strong> (USA, 2015) and the <strong>Best Pitched Project Award<\/strong> at <strong>FIPA INDUSTRY<\/strong> at the <strong>27th International Festival of Audiovisual Programs<\/strong> (France, 2014).<\/p>\n<p>The film constitutes an impressive mosaic that elucidates the Greek Crisis since its early stage while tracing its impact on Greek society through 4 dark years: the rapid impoverishment suffered by Greek citizens, the rise of fascism as well as the emergence of solidarity movements.
